Odd problem - Guest Account is Administrator

Were trying to track down an odd problem. Our intranet box is Windows

Server 2000. In the users, the guest account is listed, however when

we view its properties it's listed as the Administrator.

The guest account is a member of the Administrators group, which

obviously seems like a problem in of itself. We're basically cleaning

up after an old sys admin.

Has anyone encountered this, and can you advice regarding the second

point?

TIA

Well, as everybody knows, Guest account is never an administrator by

default.

What role is this server hosting? Who has access to this server? Maybe

someone changed the account on purpose?

Its our intranet machine. Shouldn't the guest account still say guest

when you go into its properties window, even if it is (wrongly) part

of the Administrators group?

Users throughout the company have file level access to it.

Where exactly does it say Administrator in the Guest account? Does it say

Administrator in the box titled "Full Name" or next to the icon just above

that?

Guest and Administrator accounts can be renamed and often are for intended

value of strengthing security. If it truely is *the* guest account that is a

member of the administrators, then that is bad.

Likely they have much more access to it than they even know.
