TS licenseing question

This may sound stupid but - Windows Server 2003 Standard comes with 2

concurrent licenses for terminal server. If I purchase a 5 user TS license,

will I now have 7 available licenses for remote users or just the 5 for users

and 2 administrative?

Windows Server doesn't come with 2 licenses. But when the server is

configured for remote Administration, you have 2 (+1) administrative

sessions, which are free of license requirements.

 

When you install Terminal Services and 5 TS CALs, then you will have

5 remote session + 1 free administrative session to the console.
