Guest ali kemal Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Hi, We have a Domain Controller in our branch office. Now we want to change the network address of the branch office. For this, it is clear that we have to change the IP of the DC running in that site. So, I want to know whether I change easily the DC 's IP without any problem. Is there anything to be taken into account or any steps to be followed for this operation? Thanks for help in advance. Ali Kemal. Tunca.
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Re: Changing the Domain Controller IP Hello ali, When you have changed the IP restart the DC and check that the DNS record is updated correctly. Also do not forget the clients DNS if the DC is also DNS server, either the fixed IP or the DHCP scope options. After the machine is up again, check with dcdiag, netdiag and replmon for errors. Also have a look in the event viewer for errors and warnings.
