Guest Usenet Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I"m struggling to find a simple guide to what is required in terms of printer drivers if I wanted to have a Windows 2008 Server x64 act as a file and print server. My understanding is that the driver installed on the server *has* to be a Vista compatible WHQL x64 driver i.e. I couldn't use a Windows 2003 Server x64 driver regardless of whether it's WHQL or not? It's one of those small things that could put a seriously big dent in any plans to pilot 2008 server as we all know how far behind many printer manufacturers are in updating their drivers. Our clients are primarily 32 bit XP and Vista with some x64 XP. I'm reading the Microsoft Windows 2008 Server Technical Resources website and I can't see anything that explains in plain "You can install this" and "You can't install this" terms.
