Guest Don Powell Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I'm trying to backup my server 2003 system state using the builtin backup utility but keep getting the following error: Backup Status Operation: Backup Active backup destination: File Media name: "SBBackup System State Backup.bkf created 4/10/2008 at 3:10 PM" Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 1. Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:0x8004230c. Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:8004230c Aborting Backup. The operation did not successfully complete. Any thoughts?

This is a subject that pops up with great regularity. As a first step I suggest you have a look at existing threads with the words "system state" in the Subject line.
