What is difference between

 

Dear Friends::::::::::--

 

What is the difference between

 

"Domain controller"

&

"Additional Domain Controller"

 

 

in Windows 2003 server?

 

 

Both are same or there is some difference???

I believe:

 

Domain Controller is a Primary Domain Controller or a secondary domain

controller.

 

Additional Domain Controller is a secondary domain controller.

Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as a primary domain controller

in Active Directory. The first domain controller, by default, is a

Global Catalog and the FSMO roles holder. Additional Domain Controllers

would be those added to an existing domain. The FSMO Roles can be

migrated to those systems (if desired - and even split up among 5

different systems).
