Guest Matt Z. Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I was attempting to extend a volume in Server 2003 and received a message that the process had failed. The disks I was attempting to add to the mix are now listed as part of the volume, but the total space has not changed in Disk Manager, but DiskPart shows the volume as having increased. The only error logged in the event viewer is Source: LDM, Event ID: 2, Description: (C000000D) I can't find any information on this type of error. Is it possible to remove the disks from the volume and try again?
Guest Anteaus Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 RE: Spanned disk extension failed Not sure, but in this age of relatively cheap disk space I wouldn't do this, you're only creating a 'house of cards' where one fault will bring the whole thing crashing down. Best thing is to backup the entire contents to another disk, and re-create the affected partitions.
