Changing Windows Server 2008 Connection Type

I was wondering if someone could point me to the secret of connection

types on Windows Server 2008. According to documentation it says it

works with 5.2 or later however when I try to create a new connection,

the drop down box for connection type is grayed out and only 6.1 is an

option.

Any ideas how I can change that?

Thanks,

Richard

Can you please share why do you want to create a non 6.1 RDP-Tcp on Win2k8

server?

Thanks

No, but w2k8's version of RDP will be backward compatible ( or configurable

as such) so that older clients can still connect, so there shouldn't be any

issue with this.

Re: Changing Windows Server 2008 Connection Type

Yes, it is not possible to create different versions of RDP-Tcp with

tsconfig/TSWMI on the same machine.

In Win2k8, If your machine also has Cirtix installed, the drop down box will

be enabled, and you can create ICA-Tcp connection, in addition to RDP-Tcp.

Re: Changing Windows Server 2008 Connection Type

we have an entire lab of paper weights! 6.1 is NOT in backwards compatible.

We have neoware thin clients connecting to our windows 2008 server. In the

event viewer, we are getting a termDD error.. there HAS to be a fix for

this... why have a pulldown when it doesnt work?
