Guest boba Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I created a TempTestou where I have my test machine sitting and created a GPO named test for desktop and it is not working. I configured settings under user configuration ->Administrative Templete ->Desktop and applied. How do I link the test gpo to the machine which is under my Temp Testou. Thanks!

Guest boba Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 RE: GPO It is this machine in my Temp Testou to which I am trying to apply this policy to. Means any user login to this machine the policy setting should apply to: not to be able to change desktop or not to be able to delete my docs folder from desktop etc. "boba" wrote: > I created a TempTestou where I have my test machine sitting and created a GPO > named test for desktop and it is not working. Guest Freaky Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Re: GPO User configuration applies to users. Computer configuration applies to computers. One exception (in 2003). You can put a User configuration on an OU with a terminal server in it, and the user configuration will apply to the users on the terminal server, albeit the users are not in that OU. But, this is _only_ for terminal servers. For workstations etc, user configuration will only apply when user is in the OU's the user configuration applies to. So simply put, putting a user configuration GPO on an OU with only workstations in it, will do nothing. boba wrote: > It is this machine in my Temp Testou to which I am trying to apply this > policy to. > Means any user login to this machine the policy setting should apply to: not > to be able to change desktop or not to be able to delete my docs folder from > desktop etc. > > "boba" wrote: > >> I created a TempTestou where I have my test machine sitting and created a GPO >> named test for desktop and it is not working.
