Guest James B Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Hi, We recently installed SBS 2003 Server R2 Premium. It is our only server, so it’s our PDC, Exchange server, ISA server, etc. We cannot seem to FTP out (we never allow inward FTP). I’ve checked the ISA Firewall and it appears to be set to allow outward FTP. We can log into the remote site via FTP (both from the command line and via IE), but we cannot transfer a file any location (we’ve tried several, including one we maintain). We have had no problems FTP’ing to these sites on our old Win2K server. We get an “access denied” 550 error, but nothing in the event logs tells us why we were denied. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks, James
Guest Steve Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Re: Can't FTP Out On SBS 2003 Server Uncheck the read only box on Configure FTP for any ISA rule that allows outbound FTP access. Guest James B Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Re: Can't FTP Out On SBS 2003 Server Steve, That fixed it! Thanks a lot. Now all I need to do is figure out why it works from the server but not from a user's workstation. Thanks again, James "Steve" wrote: > Uncheck the read only box on Configure FTP for any ISA rule that allows > outbound FTP access. > > "James B" <JamesB@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:0482166F-00F1-422B-BEAF-8EE02C25DFB9@microsoft.com... > > Hi, > > We recently installed SBS 2003 Server R2 Premium. Guest Richard K Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Re: Can't FTP Out On SBS 2003 Server Make sure the user logs out and back in so they are using the latest profile information.
