Recommendations for TS help

Hi,

I'm having big difficulties with Terminal services. I'm not really

sure who to turn to at the moment. Most of my problems are probably

very basic, but I have very limited knowledge of TS.

Can anybody recommend a good place to talk to about this? Is there a

contact at Microsoft, or is there anybody else?

The trouble is, our TS server was installed by an external company who

are no longer with us, so I can't speak to them. I'm really at the

limit of my knowledge with TS.

It's so intermitant , sometimes people can get on, sometimes they

can't. We can never get more than one person on at a time. Is it to do

with licensing, or do we have a problem with the configuration of TS,

or is it a hardware problem, or is it a firewall problem?

We use TS on a Windows 2003 server. Last night I got on twice, but

then couldn't get on for the rest of the night or this morning. What's

going on? How can I get a resolution to this?

Any help very gratfully accepted,

Colin

For example, how do I find out how many licenses I have for TS?

Do you currently use Active Directory or is this a Workgroup?

If someone is unable to access the machine, are there any error

messages in the Event Log?

Are there any messages in the Event Log around the time you were

unable to get in?

When you say "get in", are you coming in "off-site" through a VPN

or are you still on the local network?

For licensing - > Administrative Tools -> Terminal Server Licensing.

Anything in there?

We use Active Directory. I haven't seen any errors in the event log.

i'm talking about coming in off site, though not through a VPN.

Nothing too obvious in TS licensing, except that there are 3 licenses

listed which were granted around 1st April and which are due to expire

around the end of June. None of these computers are currently

accessing TS, and haven't done for a couple of weeks. I can't seem to

remove the licenses (i.e. right clicking on them does nothing).

Thanks
