edmedic Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Hi guys, I have Windows Vista on quite a new laptop. I have a Vodafone Mobile Broadband USB Modern Stick Lite to use the internet. I have installed the associated software. When I open the software it then allows me to connect to the Vodafone 3G connection - I then click 'Connect' and it loads half of the connection status bar and then a blue screen appears. It has lots of white writing but from what I can read (it is only up for a few seconds before the computer automatically reboots) it says that Windows detected something trying to write to read only memory and something about ndis.sys. Then there is something about a memory dump. I have plenty of memory available. Vodaphone were unable to help. This happens every time I try to connect. Your advice is gratefully appreciated! Quote
Jelly Bean Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Hello and welcome. Open deviice manager and see if there is a yellow symbol located under other devices or under USB please. The problem if a recent one maybe a driver issue, try uninstalling the Vodafone driver and the USB port driver. It maybe a USB port is damaged have you tried another port? Is this an older dongle that may of been damaged? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
