Guest TJ Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Hi I have noticed that I there is a user in Documents and Settings on my DC that is no longer with the company. I tried to delete the folder but some files were in use - ntuser.dat.LOG and NTUSER.dat. I tried opening ntuser.dat.LOG and got the following error. 'Unable to open the file C:\Documents and Settings\joanm\ntuser.dat.LOG Cannot open file "C:\Documents and Settings\joanm\ntuser.dat.LOG". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process' There is a button at the bottom that has a red cross and the word Bummer. I don't think this is a Microsoft message and the icons look as if they come from Borland Delphi. I have run a scan with the latest up to date version of Sophos AntiVirus and the system is clean. Has anyone come across this before? Tony
Guest Meinolf Weber Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Re: Strange error message Hello TJ, Try to move the folder to c: drive and delete it there. Or take ownership and then you should be able to delete it. Guest TJ Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Re: Strange error message Thanks all I am, however, more concerned with the error message and the 'Bummer' button on it. As I said, I have scanned with the latest version of AV but the system is clean.
