Abhi0182 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Hi Guys, I have been using vista for near about 2 years...and was doing pretty well till last month. Last month I was watching the online television news all of sudden the PC hanged making some wired noise and was shutdown... When is did the PC restart it asked me to start normally or not...i did the select for normal start of Vista...it worked... I was happy that my PC is ok :)....all of sudden PC got shutdown after sometime....there after I have been trying to solve the issue...still issue remains the same... As per different forums I have seen options as below: 1. Some says..System heat up problem...i have already cleaned fan and all at my best. 2. Some says..Virus problem... did complete new boot up of system with original factory condition but result remained the same... work for a while then again shutdown... 3. Some says..Software problem... I have done boot with minimum software...still problem continues. I am tired of experimenting:(....Event logs also don't say much in information.... Now the problem has reached the level where fresh installation at all is not happening and it gets shutdown in mid....not sure where it will end up.... I am quite sure some of you guys have encountered such issue some or the other time... please help me in case anyone has had the issue in past.... every help will be welcoming... Thanks Abhishek Quote
RandyL Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Hi. Can you describe the noise? Hard drives and fans are the only moving parts in computers. So it could be either one that caused the noise. Run the computer with the case open to determine if ALL the fans remain running ALL the time. You don't tell us what computer you have so I assume it's a desktop of some sort. Abhi0182 Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 Here are the details: It’s a Vaio Laptop Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2 GHz. Fans are working properly... I can think of the processor problem... one time shutdown will create a chain of shutdown if i keep retrying the booting every time but if I leave it for 1hr or so it will bring the up the lapi with all the application but after sometime it will go down again and same process continues.... Some time I see hard drive indexing error while booting but not sure how it get booted if a leave for one hour and then again same problem in place after sometime.... Some techi guys are recommending to replace the processor which will be of good cost but not sure if that will get the problem resolved.... Quote
Jelly Bean Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Firstly I would enter BIOS/Setup and load defaults, while there see if your hard drive is listed. Also make sure any external hardware not needed for booting is disconnected. This is possible a over heating issue that may or may not of caused hardware damage. Have your tried restarting and repeatedly tap F8 key and choose last known good config or safe mode?Do either of these work? This could be caused by a bad driver, virus etc, lets see what we can do to figure this problem out for you. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
