Running an NEC pc, with intel core dual, vista. Trying to enter bios to reset boot sequance but when i restart no bios screen appears, pressing f2 stops the pc from booting. If i just switch it on in, after a while it comes up with the vista screen and runs okay. any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Try the DEL key repeatedly upon startup, some manufacturers remove the BIOS post screen so as not to confuse inexperienced pc users.

It is normally DEL or one of the F1-12 keys

Thanks Dalo Harkin, tried that no luck, the bios screen used to come up when i turned on the pc but one day it just stopped but it never effected the performance of the pc, so i never thought anything of it

Before this were you getting a manufacturers Splash screen or a POST screen (where the screen is black but you can see it loading)

Try F2 on startup and see if you actually get to the bios. (You may want to give us your make and model if that doesn't work since they do not all use the same key but F2 seems to be used the most.

Yer i was getting a manufactures screen, have tried f1-f12 and delete, and all that seems to do is stop it loading anything, by this i mean it does not continue to the login screen and i have to restart the computer.
