V7 may work [did several months ago] though maybe not now, V8 connects so far [as of three or four months ago] but the news and other will not update, and V9 is apparently the one 98 users are supposed to be using now. V4 may be to old to connect with the service. Try at least v7 and see if it connects. If not post back with some information like: Your present network setting for the WAN Miniport "adapter" {AOL} and TCP/IP. What type of connection [phone or otherwise]? Is AOL the connection service or is it just where you go AFTER connecting? -- MEB http://peoplescounsel.orgfree.com -- _________

You will need to install the drivers for the D-Link PC Card, then set up your network settings on the Omnibook so they are the same as your other connected computers, and connect it with Ethernet cable to the router. The Win98 drivers for that D-Link adapter are on this page: http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=132&sec=0#drivers Click the Download button for the Win98 driver, choose to Save the File, save it in a folder where you want to store drivers; then when downloaded, close all open programs and double-click the downloaded exe file to install the drivers. Run this installation program BEFORE you insert the adapter into the PC Card slot. At the bottom of the web page is a link to the Quick Install Guide, which will instruct you how to install. PLEASE follow the instructions there, substituting the downloaded installer file for the CD. If you have already tried to install the card without these drivers, first open Device Manager and remove any entry for the D-Link network adapter and any entry listed in the "Other" category in Device Manager. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP Windows, A+ http://dts-l.net/ http://dts-l.net/goodpost.htm
