Is there any simple way that I can restrict the applications that a terminal

server user can run on under Windows 2003 Terminal Services?

Mike,

Buy tooling like RES PowerFuse.

It contains a cool feature "AppGuard" that gives you absolute control what

an user can start on terminal servers.

With AppGuard an user can start only those executables which are authorised

by an admin.

This is on file level, so e.g.

- outlook.exe can be started

- winword.exe has the permission to start explorer.exe

- outlook.exe has the permission to start excel.exe

There's also a free (limited >100 users) version available => "PowerFuse

2008 Express Edition"

Only it doesn't contains the "AppGuard" feature, "PowerFuse 2008 Standard

Edition" does!

I think it's one of the best solutions to control users on TS/CPS servers.

Regards,

Hi,

The simplest way is to use Remote Application Center (RAC):

http://www.mqtechnologies.com/

It's freeware
