Hello,

I have a Zoostorm PC which I've had for about 2-3 years now and in the past month or so, I've had a Malware (Can't remember the name) and 2 Spyware (Security Suite) on my PC. The Malware and the 1st Spyware have been removed though I'm having difficult getting rid of this second one, currently I'm using my dad's laptop to post this thread.

I've been thinking of restoring my PC to Factory Standards like when I first brought it, though I wasn't given a disk and since then I have installed a new graphics card. When I had the installed, Vista automatically installed the drivers that it needed to run properly. I'm aware of the process of restoring to how it was when brought and I don't mind losing the current data I have. I can easily re-install my games on it and I don't have any important documents etc I need.

My PC make is a Zoostorm as it says on the PC Case and when I turn it on, Foxconn comes up, so that's what it is. To get to the Advanced Options, I need to tap F8 a few times to get to them. While I've been trying to find a detailed answer, the answers I've found so far have told me to select the Command Prompt and type "restore" and then type "y".

I know this my sound easy but I'm still worried that this may removed Vista itself from my HDD as well as will I need to re-install my old graphics card or not, as the options given don't really explain alot of the process.

I'd be grateful if someone can answer my question in detail and quickly as possible, as I have little experience with this process as I've not been working with computers for long.

factory reset

Hi, Vista should have the option to do a factory reset either in the control panel or in the folder where it is installed. You can also try to do the factory resetting using the command prompt as someone has already advised you. A factory reset will not uninstall Vista but may uninstall all you programs or software updates for any added hardware and you just would have to reinstall them. Make a backup of all your personal files too, as they may get deletes too.

good luck,
