Guest john.loconte@noaa.gov Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I'm running win2k3. Two to three times a day the print service stops and I have to manually reset it. The event log only says that the service has stopped and must be restarted. I can't see what's causing it. Thanks for any help...

In my experience, this is usually because of bad drivers (I've also seen inkjet drivers cause MAJOR problems if you have any inkjet printers - though in fairness, the last time I had any major opportunity to explore these problems was 3-4 years ago. I would probably suggest reviewing who is printing to what printer at the time the spooler crashes. You can also set the properties of the spooler to auto restart. Or create a small script and schedule it to run to check if the spooler is running and start it if it isn't. (Better to find the root cause though). -Lee
