I posted this once before and never got any replies, so I'm trying it again,

hoping it was just a slow day back then ;-)

Has anyone tried to setup a user profile template? If yes, did the

wallpaper that you used when creating the template show up with subsequent

profiles that were set to use the profile template?

I've tried this twice, and both times it does not.

TIA

If "template" means a standard profile that a user gets when

logging on to a PC for the very first time then all you have

to do is create the "Default Profile" folder to your precise

requirements.

Re: User Profile Template

Ok, let me explain further;

I login as userX. Set the profile, including the Desktop wallpaper, the way

I want it. Then login as administrator and then using System Properties >

Advanced > Profiles, I copy the profile to \\Server\\users\template.

Then in AD Users and Computers I set userXX's profile setting to point to

that folder.

Then I login as userXX. The jpeg that I used for the original wallpaper is

in the My Pictures folder but, it isn't being displayed as the current

wallpaper, even though it is selected in Display properties. Very strange.

I'm actually following the steps for this right from one of Microsoft's

"training kit" books (exam 70-290). But, no such luck.
