Guest Bill Taylor Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Window cannot acess the specified device, path, or file. You may not have approtriate permissions to access. Server in a workgroup. User added to Administrator group. Try to double click on a .exe file and get the above error. The Administrator login works fine, it's just the additional users added to the Administrators group that cannot run the .exe files. Any Suggestions?

Did you disconnect COMPLETELY (all shares) and re-authenticated anew? Group membership is calculated at first AUTHENTICATION (which is logon in a domain but when first connecting in a workgroup.) If not, disconnect EVERYTHING (share, print share) to that server and retry. > The Administrator login works > fine, it's just the additional users added to the Administrators group > that > cannot run the .exe files.
