Remote Desktop to Windows 2003 Server

I'm a newbie and I just finished setting up a server with windows 2003 server

and I would like to remotely connect to the machine. It is currently in a

workgroup that is physically connected to our network and not part of our

domain. I can ping the machine, but I cannot remotely connect. How do I

solve this?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

RDP Enabled similarly to XPP. Right click my computer, properties, remote

tab, enable remote desktop on this computer.

Re: Remote Desktop to Windows 2003 Server

I enabled remote desktop and I still receive an error remote desktop

connection disconnected. The client could not connect to the remote

computer...... Remote desktop may not be enabled or the computer is too busy

to accept the remote connections.

There is only the administrator with no password. I enter the same

credentials when trying to log on using remote desktop but I am unsuccessful.

Please advise.

Do I need to create a new user or do I need to join the domain to be able to

access the computer?

Re: Remote Desktop to Windows 2003 Server

Hello CJVPT,

RDP into 2003 with a blank administrator password is prevented by design

and this is GOOD. Never work with an administrator account without a strong

password!!!

Best regards
