Guest Chowsman Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I reviewed several different documents concerning the ASR feature. So once you implemented ASR you should have a floppy disk and a "bkf" file (on the local disk). My question is this? Can I copy the "bkf" to a USB drive for safe keeping? Let's say I have a server with one hard drive and the drive craps out, well the "bkf" file would be gone for good. Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks, Dennis
Guest gocat2005 Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 RE: Automated System Recovery and USB Drive Yes - you definitely should keep copies of the bkf files off-site. Maybe even have several USB drives and rotate them on a weekly basis? One thing, make sure the ASR floppy procedure works in your environment. Keep backups of the floppy and run regular trials to make sure that the recovery procedure works. Regards Graham "Chowsman" wrote: > I reviewed several different documents concerning the ASR feature.
