mij Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I got click happy with adblock using firefox on paintdoodles.com and now it does not note the read posts. Each time I open it I get an accumulation of past posts. I've tried un-installing adblock, firefox and deleting preferences but to no avail. Nowt works. What have I done? How can I un-block what I've ad-blocked? cheers jim Quote
DSTM Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Hi Jim. If you have Obj-Tabs checked in Adblock Preferences, uncheck and see what difference it makes. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
mij Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 Browser doesn't remember my visits I have removed adblock but it still accumulates 'read' posts ....... It isn't doing this on other sites I visit that operate in a similar manner. I do know from past communications that the site was built with I E as the browser to to be used. cheers jim Quote
mij Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 A Quick up-date .... I deleted the short-cut that used to ge to the site ... opened the page in firefox/google and saved the url. Pasted that to a new shortcut and all is well with that site. However, another private site ( a water colour painting one) where there are the same mobile 'group huggies' perpetually moving together/apart gets on my left one. Blocking them has (yeah I thought I'd got rid of adblock - and it doesn't show the icon either) has removed the painting images as well. And I can't get them back. I've ensured that adblock is no longer on the computer but they still wont show. Mind you I can't stand mobile icons - they drag my attention away. cheers jim Quote
mij Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 Another quick up-date - it has reverted to it's original problem with the paintdoodles, com site and nor recognising that I've been there an viewed the images/posts. I had only tried it twice and it had worked then, just tried it again and it has reverted back. jim Quote

mij Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 It worked for all the other sites that I open with firefox as well which includes the site I mentioned up there. Thanks Goku. cheers jim Quote
Goku Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Hello Jim. Sorry I couldn't reply earlier. Actually Firefox has a "memory" when it comes to add ons and themes. The issues that are caused them are often left unresolved long after they are uninstalled. Thus a good way resolve such issues is to give it a fresh start by creating a new profile with default settings. :) Goku is a star. If he gets the time to explain why it worked I'm sure he will. You are one reason I still help around mate. Otherwise, I think I would have given up a long time ago. -- Goku Quote
