I have just installed POP3 on a stand alone web server(not a domain

controller/no AD). To test it. I made a domain on the pop3 virtual server

"testdomain" one mailbox "testuser" the password is "password" and had the

system automatically create an associated user. Now when I configure outlook

and press test the settings it finds the smtp server and the pop3 server and

sends a test e-mail I then get a "Network logon" box from "testdomain" but it

will not accept the "testuser" and "password" ? and wont allow me to log on.

Everythong else appears to work properly. the mailbox recieves the test

e-mail but I cannot retrieve it. I would appreciate any help! I need to know

why It wont let me logon.

Have you tried entering testuser@testdomain as the username? (Rather than

just "testuser")

Just a thought.
