woodchopper Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Hi there, i have a problem with an lg w2252tq monitor... It doesn't power on and the power light or standby light doesn't light up either. However, when i connect it to my laptop, my laptop recognises it and lets me extend my desktop onto it so i'm guessing the power is working. but i don't have a picture on the screen. any help would be greatly appreciated Quote
Jelly Bean Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Hello there. I sugest you try another monitor on your PC and see if it works. As this may point to a GPU problem. Is your computer powering on and staying on? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
woodchopper Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Hello there. I sugest you try another monitor on your PC and see if it works. As this may point to a GPU problem. Is your computer powering on and staying on? Yes I have another screen and it works fine, no problems atall. Seems weird that the screen appears to have power, as my laptop recognises its there but there is no picture. In answer to the powering on and staying on, it is a laptop that I am trying to connect it to which works fine with no problems. Any help greatly appreciated. Quote
DSTM Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Hi. Have you a small system tray applet in the bottom right hand corner coloured Blue with a gray border? Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Plastic Nev Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Hi, When it is connected and supposed to be on, if you stand or move to one side can you see a vague but dark outline of what should be showing on the screen? if so it is likely the backlight tube or the powerpack circuit for the tube is duff, considering the indicator doesn't show I suspect it is the powerpack. Plastic Nev Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Hi, considering the compact nature of flat screens, it is not something I recommend to take to bits yourself as the only way to be sure about the power pack for the backlight is replacement, which is best done by someone used to and trained to dismantle them.
