New server strange permission issue?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Installed 2k3 standard, updates...etc all fine just joined to our domain with

the Administrator account... I can't install anything from share drives?

Other servers/workstations are fine with same logon too. I can read a

documents, notepads and pictures in the share but not to install stuff

"attached error just like the one i see now"

I tried to copy the actual exe or folder to the server Desktop or C drive it

copy but can't run nothing?

Hello 2K3,

Check that share and folder/file permissions are set correct to allow you

the execution of this and also that you have the right on the local machine.

If i am not totally wrong try this:

Check if the machine is added to the trusted sites in IE. There is an enhaced

security with 2003, that will not allow by default starting .exe from a shared

drive.

Best regards

Re: New server strange permission issue?

Add the Domain Administrator (what I’m using) to the administrator group to

the local box also add the box name for IE to trust same issue still… then I

logged on with another domain admin account everything is fine??
