Purge Credentials in TS

Does anyone know how to purge the saved credentials in an RDP6.0 session ?

Our users like the fact that the new RDP Client will save their credentials

and avoid a double logon. However, when a client's password expires, the

RDP session continues to use the old/expired password. Is there a way to

purge them all out and start over ?

Forgot to mention - Yes, I realize there is an Options, Delete option.

However, this only deletes the credentials for that one server. With 110+

servers that is not a great solution. Users attempts to connect to server

with bad password ... pop-up tells them the password is wrong ... press

cancel ... expand the Options ... delete credentials, reconnect ... is not

well recieved.

I'm confused by the fact that there are 110 servers and they have

different passwords?? Are the servers in a domain? If so, why not use

the domain credentials? You should get a prompt that the password is

wrong and get a prompt to specify a new one. There is a "Save" check

box. Does it not work that way for you?

No, not totally the case. The servers are all on the domain and the users

all have domain accounts.

I do get a prompt saying the credentials are wrong, but there is no option

to specify a new password. To specifiy new credentials and have them

stored you have to cancel the logon window and go back to the RDP connect

screen, hit Options and Edit or Delete the credentials.

We have Terminal Services in our HO since our locations are hub and spoke

and they cannot RDP direct to each other. These users in question need to

RDP from one location to another, so we're having them RDP onto our TS

servers in HO and then out to a location. So, to replicate my scenario, RDP

onto a 2003 server. Then RDP "out" to another 2003 Server. Log on with an

account and log off. Now in the TS session, you now have a "saved" username

and password combo. Change the password on the account. Fire up RDP again

in the first TS session. After typing in the server's name, and hit

Options, you'll see there are saved credentials (which are actually now

wrong).

With the workflow of these users in the one location, speed is of the

essence. Having them go in and delete the stored credentials for 110+

servers after a password expiration and change is not good.

Hey there. Anyone else have any insight into this ?

Using the RDP6.0 client and users are allowed to Save Passwords. Password

expires as per the Password Policy and now the RDP client continues to use

the old password. Is there any way to purge all the saved passwords at once

?

No, users have to edit their saved passwords manually.

Single Sign-On is supported from Vista clients to W2008 TS.
