Guest Brad Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Hi, Well it didn't last long, around 6 days, but this time it "died" while I was downloading. I will not spend any more time trying to fix this Compaq Presario 1200XL110. I removed the 3V RTC/CMOS battery, which I bought new. I check the voltage (2.98V). (It seemed to be a surprising & happy success at first!) I can only guess there came a point when it needed to have a main battery installed, even though you had it plugged into a wall socket. (But I really know nothing.) In case you change your mind & want to research it... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Compaq+Presario+1200XL110&btnG=Google+Search Google reports about 37,700 for Compaq Presario 1200XL110. | | On Wed, 23 Apr 2008 11:42:24 GMT, in sci.electronics.repair you wrote: | |>Hi, |> |> I have a Compaq Presario 1200XL110 laptop (bought 2nd hand) with |>bad display (display "wires" disconnected).
