Session doesn't fully initialize with slow connection

Have a 2003 Terminal Server that works fine if a remote user is connected

via a fast connection, but if they try using slower connections (dial-up,

wireless with a poor signal, etc.) it connects and looks like session is

going to start, but then hangs. Blank screen with nothing on it.

I've been told this could be an issue with TS and logon scripts, but haven't

found any documentation to this effect.

Re: Session doesn't fully initialize with slow connection

Sounds like a problem with the MTU size of the connection.

From the MS TS FAQ:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/en-

us/terminal/terminal_faq.mspx#EJEAC

Q. Sometimes when I connect to my terminal server, I see a black

screen. Why does this occur?

A. This typically occurs if there is a device between the client

and the server that is receiving packets but not passing them on.

One way around this problem is to change the MTU size for the

network adapter that is being used as a terminal server connection

to clients.
