Guest Kelvin Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Off topic question: I have two product keys, how can I tell what software they go with? I've gotten the sleeves and the disks mixed up I think? Is there a way to tell what software belongs to what key? Thanks Kelvin

And Belarc Advisor will show you what software you have installed and what key it has, if any, just install it and have a look you'll be surprised what you can find out. <g> Joan -- Joan Archer http://www.freewebs.com/crossstitcher http://lachsoft.com/photogallery "Kelvin" <someone@domain.com> wrote in message news:uKCr4BUqIHA.4788@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > That's a good idea, but I have various software and sleeves that are miss > matched... > > Kelvin > > "Don Schmidt" <Don Engineer@PNB.Retired_1987> wrote in message > news:ipWdnT1WjZ9MSIjVnZ2dnUVZ_uednZ2d@palinacquisition... >> If you have either or both installed on your computer, run Belarc Advisor >> and it will id which is which. >> >> http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html >> >> >> -- >> Don >> Vancouver, USA >> >> >> "Kelvin" <someone@domain.com> wrote in message >> news:uDNIaDTqIHA.4112@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >>> I've gotten the sleeves and the disks mixed up I think? >>> Is there a way to tell what software belongs to what key? >>> >>> Thanks >>> >>> Kelvin >>> >> >> > >

Are you talking about Windows XP? If so, note that the product keys are not on CDs themselves (the same is probably true even for non-Windows products). As long as both are of the same type (Home vs. Professional, Retail vs. OEM. and Full vs. Upgrade), the CDs are identical and either can be used with either key. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup
