Hi. I'm useless at trying to figure out my own pc problems. I recently purchased a IBM thinkpad from a gov't surplus site. I was told that it had been swiped. It has windows 2000 professional. I downloaded moxilla firefox, internet explorer, and adobe flash player. The problem I'm having is that when I go to certain sites my computer completely shuts off. I have to restart it every time it does. The sites are common. For example, Southwest.com. I can click onto the site but when I try to put in info for booking flights it just shuts down. Please help. This is driving me and my wife crazy!

SO it was wiped and then came with a fresh copy of Windows 2000 or did you install this?

It sounds like the installation of either mozilla or IE didnt go so well.

Was the computer fully uopdated from the Microsoft website with service packs and all the ctitical updates before you installed anything else?
