If you lost System Restore, and other OS funtions and programs are acting

erradic, then follow Gerry's suggestions:

1) get the XP OS disc and try repairing the XP system. If that doesn't do it

then...

 

2) reload the entire XP OS system using your disc.

 

Reloading the XP OS system will take a few hours especially if you have to

reload drivers and porgrams, but in the long run it will be faster and less

frustrating than trying the dozens of other possible remedies.

 

Of course, save documents to external disk drive or discs.

 

I've had to reload my OS on my computers a few times the past 6 years

because of bad software, self-inflicted wounds (messing with redit), viruses,

spyware or other problems. Reloading is doable and will also give your

computer a fresh start.

could you please repost to me, where you showed me how to resolve the

problem. For all the posts on this thread, I have not recd any that shows

me

Had quite a shock today. Someone sent me an email and asked me to go to

and see all the posts. I found that I had not recd quite a number of posts,
