Dalo Harkin Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Your either using a piece of software that doesnt recognise certain types of files (which is unlikely) or your CCD/DVD rom needs the firmware updating Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
RandyL Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I have to agree with Dalo on the file type issue. What I don't understand is that a DVD player reads a CD. Some DVD players will read jpeg pics from a CD I know. So exactly what did you put on the CD? I've never heard of this software and after looking at it I'm suspect as to it's quality and what it does. 1. What diid you burn. 2. What are the file types? 3. Did you finalize the disk? 4. Is the material copyrighted? 5. What type of info is on the CD? 6. What type of programs have you tried to get the info off the CD? Sorry but we really need more information on this. Keep in mind though that the software might be limited and there really is no support on it. Quote We are all members helping other members. Dalo Harkin Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Couple of things, what software is it that you are using, if it is burn for free, then use something else as its not very good. ANY file burnt to a CD/DVD should be visable within a PC CD/DVD player, the fact that it is only visable in a standalone DVD player would indicate that the software has changed the format to one IT uses itself. Use Nero for every burning requirement, some people prefer Roxio, but I prefer Nero, It supports ISO, Data, VOB and many others and is good for beginners and advanced users. RandyL Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I totally agree with Dalo. If the computer you had the burn software on can't read it from within the software program you're probably screwed and the data lost. It really does look like crap from what little support the site offers. I can only think of one thing to try. After that I have nothing. Since it does read in a stand alone DVD player try hooking up a stand alone DVD player via AV cables and perform a copy. I know this works with DVD movie format but unsure about your situation. Perhaps after finalizing a computer may be able to get the files. I've done this with VOB and then converted but it's a real pain. It's not looking good at this point as Dalo said. jayden-lee Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 year thanks but the program does not change the format because my stand alone DVD player tells me the format of the thing it is reading. ok if I can't find a way to get it off the easy way looks like I’ll have to spend a wile with the slow way with R.C.A.s but I have to know would a dvd recorder be able to copy all the photo's to USB??? Dalo Harkin Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 A DVD recorder or player? Some DVD players allow USB sticks to be plugged in to play the data on them, it cannot go the other way where the DVD player sends data to the USB All you need to do to solve your issue is not use that software and get Nero or something equivalent (there are free versions) and you will have the issue sorted Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
