When I try to start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing the

following error appears:

Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)

service on Local computer. Error 170: The requested resource is in use.

Routing and Remote Access has not been started.

I did have a anti-virus software but it was removed.

Re: could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Shari

Hello snazzy,

Check if all of this services are running, if not start it:

1. Remote Procedure call (RPC)

2. Windows Managegement Instrumentation

3. Eventlog

4. Network connections

Also reset Winsock by running the following command

from a command prompt: "netsh winsock reset" (without the quotes).

Best regards
