2003 backup error

Prepping to install 2003 sp2.

 

I attempt to backup the server config using Windows Backup.

 

An error is displayed: This is from the event log:

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Shadow Copy writer RemovableStorageManager

called routine OpenNtmsSessionW which failed with status 0x80070422

(converted to 0x800423f4).

 

This error can be caused by SQL being on the machine.

 

I request the hotfix from MS for this issue.

 

I am attempting to install the update.

 

This messages is displayed:

Before you install this update, we recommend that you:

- Back up your system.

 

Round and round we go.
