i suggest you slow down and enter you password carefully, as if your post is

any indication of your spelling ability, your most likely misspelling it.

Have you installed any of the alternative programmes that can replace

Task Manager. Process Explorer is popular example and you can reverse

the situation by clicking on Options, Restore Task Manager. However.

Process Explorer is not the only alternative that does this.

RE: I can't go past caontrol+alt+delete

I understand why do you say that I need to check my spelling since I have

misspelled many words on the message, but believe me I have tried every

method slow and fast I even had some one else try it, for the misspelling

reason and no success. But no, that is not the reason. Thank you for your

suggestion.

Thank you Kelley!! I ma consciences of my spelling problem and I am not

ashamed when some one points it out to me. I get it all the time. I guess I

am not meant to type good!! But that is not the reason why I can’t get past

C+A+D. I bet that this is one challenge many of the computer experts have not

seen yet!

What is this a spelling judging site or a community help site. I have notice

my problem and I don't care but now I am a bit offended since you do not have

any good or bad ideas on how you can help but thank you for letting me know

Re: I can't go past caontrol+alt+delete

Thank you Ron Baddour, I have tried that and no success. I have tried all

kinds of booting modes and the C+A+D just keep popping. It starts by "loading

your personal settings" and after 5 seconds continues with "saving your

settings" and the C+A+D is back. It tries to load and then logs off.

Thank you

Possibility:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ToolsQuit.htm

Task Manager is taskmgr.exe, which is located in the c:\windows\system32

folder. What happens if you double click the exe file in Windows

Explorer?

Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings and

verify that the box before "Show hidden files and folders" is checked

and "Hide protected operating system files " is unchecked. You may need

to scroll down to see the second item. You should also make certain that

the box before "Hide extensions for known file types" is not checked.

Incorrect spelling is a common problem, even in your

own reply. Is it

"your most likely misspelling it" or

"you're most likely misspelling it"?

To the OP: Does your logon process go like this:

1. You see the usual logon screen.

2. You enter (or click) your account + password and press Enter.

3. The system attempts to log you on, then drops back

to the logon screen.

If so, what is the recent history of the machine? Hardware /

software changes?

If you read my post again, you just might find that I laid no critisism

about your posting whatsoever. You might also just find that I was

critisising the person who did.

Still, if your comprehension is as bad as your spelling and punctuation then

maybe it was justified after all.

I am sorry!

Perhaps I should pay attention the help you are providing and not to the

criticism! Your comments have had no help in resolving my problem with my

computer.

I try to apply the help you all provide but the thing is that I am not able

to get past C+A+D and if I can't get to the desk top I can't apply changes to

the system.

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: I can't go past caontrol+alt+delete

Yes it is just as you have described it. I know for a fact that the password

is correct because I had 3 other persons enter it, just to make sure that I

am not miss spelling it.

I hope that this can be helpful info. Before this entire problem started

after I ran a scan for spy where with CA and at the end of the scan CA asked

to re-start the computer, so I did and from that point-on I have not been

able to get back in my system.

If you know of a way to get beck in the system then I can probably restore

the deleted files that the antyspyware program removed.

I am not sure that that would do it but I have nothing to lose by trying it.

Thank you

This is getting a little confusing. Here is what I wrote in my

previous reply:

===================

To the OP: Does your logon process go like this:

1. You see the usual logon screen.

2. You enter (or click) your account + password and press Enter.

3. The system attempts to log you on, then drops back

to the logon screen.

If so, what is the recent history of the machine? Hardware /

software changes?

===================

I cannot see any criticism in my words, only questions. On the

other hand I am unable to see any answers in your most recent

reply - where are they?

If you intend to continue this discussion then please respond

quickly. It's now ten days since you started this thread and it

becomes time-consuming to refamiliarise myself with your

problem each time.

Your reply suggests that the logon process goes like so:

1. You see the usual logon screen.

2. You enter (or click) your account + password and press Enter.

3. The system attempts to log you on, then drops back

to the logon screen.

If this is correct then the problem is most likely caused by

the system being unable to locate the file userinit.exe. The

cure depends on your setup:

a) Is the machine networked? (easy to fix)

b) Could you temporarily connect its hard disk to another

WinXP/2000 PC? (not so easy)

c) None of the above (hardest)

Efren:

I have the exact same problem. Did you ever find a solution to it?
