Hi guys,

I have a acer 5738 laptop and I've reccently been having problems with my wifi connecting to my wireless modem. I'm with Virgin Media at the moment and I've contacted them numerous times about my internet problem however they have stated that they can't see anything wrong from their side. I also have a pc in the same room but thats working fine when connecting to the internet. Therefore I believe the problem lies within my laptop. Can somebody please help me on this matter, I've searched all over the internet for the solution but can't seem to find one.

I would appreciate anyones help at this moment!

Connect the lappy to the router/modem with an Ethernet cable if its all ok then it narrows it down to the lappy wireless connection.

Underneath the Virgin router there will be the SSID (name of the router it broadcasts) and the passphrase, ensure that this is what your wireless is detecting and trying to connect to (as they sometimes just try and connect to the first available) which could be one of your neighbours unprotected router
