Remote Desktop Users can't access to TS

using TS remoteApp only administrator can access to the Terminal Server

for example I created a new user member of 'Remote Desktop Users' but when I

logon it tell me "the group doesn't have the rights"

how can I fix it?

What is the Windows version of Terminal Services are you running?

Is your Terminal Services in remote administration mode? If it is, then it

is by design.

for "remote desktop users" to access Terminal Services, you need to set it

to Appcation Server mode (or Terminal Server in W2k8).

Basically, it's not a real good idea to have user able to log directly

onto a TS server unless it through an app like Citrix. This is why no

one other than an admin can log on by default.

 

I have about 15 servers running TS (2 Citrix servers are in application

mode). No one other than an admin ever logs onto *any* of my servers

using RDP.

 

Could you expand on why you need users to RDP into a TS server?

To share an application to some users with TS RemoteApp (new feature in

server 2008) that allows to share only a single application and not the

entire desktop.
