Guest r2d2rd Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 When I close a program the coressponding process in the tasl manager does not close. So If I re open the program I will have two of the same process open. For example I will outlook.exe process open multiple times eventhough I have outlook closed.

Do you have any other examples, other than Outlook?
Guest r2d2rd Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Re: Processes do not close Yes, excel acrobat and quickbooks. Those are the programs I use the most. Guest Bob''s Wife Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Re: Processes do not close I have the same problem. It also happens with Excel, Word, WordPerfect. For example, if I close a document I am working on, I cannot open it again because it's "being used by another user". I have to go into Task Manager and end process. My computer runs very slow by the end of the day, and I just added RAM giving me 3G of RAM. "r2d2rd" wrote: > Yes, excel acrobat and quickbooks. Guest Fenley Crunchwhistle Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Re: Processes do not close In my case, the Symantec Event Manager Service was responsible for this problem. If I stop the service it solves the problem. I have uninstalled Symantec 360 and I am now using McAfee Security. "Fenley Crunchwhistle" wrote: > The same thing is happening to me. Guest baxterdown Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Re: Processes do not close Fenley, I chatted with Symantec tech support. Here's what they said: Khangenbam(Tue Jul 22 09:01:46 EDT 2008)>Jose, this issue is known issue to Symantec and our research team is working on this issue. Khangenbam(Tue Jul 22 09:03:09 EDT 2008)>The new patch will be release through the LiveUpdate of the Norton program when the resolution is found out. Mr. Jose (Tue Jul 22 11:55:39 EDT 2008)>Do you have an estimated time for resolution? Khangenbam(Tue Jul 22 09:04:44 EDT 2008)>Jose, I will not be able to tell you estimated time. Since we do not get the exact estimated time from the research team. But, do not worry. It will not take long time. Mr. Jose (Tue Jul 22 11:57:30 EDT 2008)>Ok Khangenbam, thank you for your assistance. Have a nice day. Khangenbam(Tue Jul 22 09:05:34 EDT 2008)>You are most welcome. So, you are right! I really like N360 so I'm gonna hold tight and hope they issue a patch in the next couple of days. j. Guest Janice Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Re: Processes do not close Now I have Norton 360, but I've had it for a while and this problem just started recently??? So don't know why 360 would cause this ... unless it has to do with an update installed in 360????
