Mouse won't appear during System Recovery

I'm using Windows XP.

During System Recovery,you use the ARROWS on your Keyboard.

Using the arrow keys didn't do anything.

Are the Keyboard and mouse USB or PS/2 ?

 

You need to be using PS/2 and an adpater will not work.

Any clues when clicking on, "Mice and other pointing devices" in Device Manager?

Any Yellow Icon?

No yellow icon in Mice and other pointing devices. I'll try getting a PS/2 mouse.

I think you might have missed part of Dalo's post. A USB keyboard might not work as well.
