As weird as it seems, I have the same exact problem.

I haven't been using Virtualbox for a short while and today it's impossible to login to my Windows XP guest since the password will not work. When trying to type in the username box, everything I type is converted to a number. I can type A it will display 1, press A again and now I get the number 2. Then any letter or number will bring me 3... and so on.

I'm guessing this could be a problem with a Windows update or something? I can't seem to see what else could be affected. I had the problem on version 3.2.8 of Virtualbox but i'm still having the same problem after updating to 3.2.10 a few minutes ago.

Here are my computers specs in case we find something in common :

Windows 7 x64 Home Premium (Host)

Windows XP SP3 (Guest)

Lenovo G560 Intel i7 Processor 4Gb RAM

PS: I just tried with another guest on the same machine (Linux Mint Debian) and I get the same problem

Hi fellows, I had the same problem with my lenovo G555. I found the problem is not on windows 7 neither virtualbox, this is in LENOVO.

I did the following and it worked!...

"if you have lenova g550 laptop and it types numbers in sequence from 1234567890123etc not letters. then do this,

(by unchecking via Control Panel/System and Security/Administrative Tools/System Configuration Startup tab). When I unchecked the following (and rebooted), the problem went away:

Startup Item: GID Desktop Application

Manufacturer: StrikeForce Technologies Inc.

Command:C:\Program Files\SFT\GuardedID\gidd.exe /s"

it was taken from here:
