Temp Device Licenses Expiring

I have a 2003 Server running TS, licensing is activated in Per User mode.

However it only issues temporary Per Device licenses. We are now getting

expiry warnings. We have 15 unissued Per User licenses and 18 temporary Per

Device licenses issued. I know that TS licensing does not track per user

licenses, but how do I ensure uninterupted access to the TS?

Re: Temp Device Licenses Expiring

Make sure that the Terminal Server is configured to use Per user

licenses. In Terminal Services Configuration - Server settings -

Licensing

Re: Temp Device Licenses Expiring

Thanks Vera, I knew it had to be something simple. I have changed it from per

Device to per User. Now we just wait until the temp licenses expire and hope

for the best.

Thanks again.

Re: Temp Device Licenses Expiring

The workstations will start to use a Per User license (or rather,

no license at all, since Per user licenses are not assigned) from

this moment on. So you should notice immediately that the warning

about the expiration date doesn't appear anymore.
