Hi Bob.There are many possible causes for this issue you are having.

Firstly I would run all Scans,to eliminate a possible Virus.

Overheating can be another reason.

What are your Temps, when it starts rebooting?

A failing PSU is another possibility.

Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.

I HAD ALREADY DONE ALL THAT

Overheating can be another reason.

THE MACHINE RUNS VERY COOL TO THE TOUCH

NO IDEA

A failing PSU is another possibility

Hi Bob, I know you are running windows7 so we need to get your computer to not re-boot so we can see what message comes up to give us a clue what is wrong.

Click "Start" then right click "Computer", on the left hand side click on "Advanced System Settings" this should open System Properties.

You can get to here from control panel as well, however click on the "Advanced" Tab then in the "Startup and recovery box" click "settings", In "System Failure", untick "Automatically restart".

Then click the OK at the bottom and leave the system running or do a restart, it shouldn't matter, but next time it shuts down, instead of re-booting, it hopefully will give a display with the error code.

Let us know what that code number is please.

Rather than an edit I will make this a fresh post, I now see you have posted regarding changing the use of a key, have you by any chance done any of that?

If so I reckon a system restore to a time before you did that, should be an answer to undo it.

Hi Bob.You have to do all the things Techies ask,or your never going to fix this problem,my friend.

You have to uncheck"Automatic restart" so it doesn't reboot.

If this has been done, it shouldn't reboot.

They want the machine not to reboot, show a blue screen, and for you to record and post the 4 Hex Values. EG 0x000000E

From these numbers, Bob,Techies can get a clearer picture of what's going on.

APC INDEX MISMATCH could be Driver incompatibility,or Overheating, for starters.

How long is your Computer running, before it tries to reboot, BOB ?

Anything odd showing in Device Manager?

Hi friends

Further thoughts on my prob

I have a ATI RADEON HD 5600 Series display adaptor.

1 What is the latest Driver and how do I install it?

2 I used the computer for about 4 hrs today it plays up.

How do I find the Hardware temperatures?

3 Can I disconnect all my USB External Hard Drives and Card readers safely,to test if they are causing problems with the Computer rebooting.

Hi Bob,

I have emailed you, it normally happens if you have a pagefile error.

So the quickest/easiest way to solve it would be to use LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION, but this doesnt always work.

You have to check that you have enough HDD space when you do get it to boot though as this can be a contributing factor.

Re the GPU drivers.

You uninstall the old display driver from add/remove programs in control panel and download the latest one from ATI Graphics Drivers & Software

and then restart, when the PC boots run the exe from wherever you have saved it to and when its all installed, restart again - done :)

Hi , i would suggest over heating. take cover of and hoover dust away from fans and heat sinks. Ensure computer not too close to a heat source.
Posted

Taking a hoover to the inside of your machine is wonderful advice. An even simpler solution to remove dust is to pack the case with explosives. In either instance there is a reasonably good chance that you wont have a working machine when you are done.

It is clear to me that this member is just a spammer trying to drum up business at your expense.

Short bursts of compressed air will do the most good in removing dust accumulations.

Just to be clear, my last post standing on its own appears a bit nasty. Originally the poster had a link directing people to his computer repair business or I would not have referred to "spam." I have never in my life heard of a computer professional suggesting taking a vacuum cleaner (Hoover) to the inside of a PC.

No Problem BC

Thanks for your concern.

I would not have done that stupid thing(Hover) anyway I also noticed the link (a free puff) and only 2 post in his profile.

This issue is due to the programs being used needing so much RAM, it could be due to a low PSU, or the Voltages may need setting in the BIOS manually.

This is one of the reasons why BSODs are not always accurate

My Friends

Dalo has been very helpful trying to solve this problem by pming me.

Tried different things that might be causing the BSOD and it looks like it could partly be being caused by my putting the computer to sleep and waking it up later.

The scenario is every time I put the computer to sleep and wake it up it produces the BSOD

I have decided rather than waste peoples precious time to live with the fact that I must not put the computer to sleep.

BTW there is quite a lot of people getting the same problem like here
