laurenceharold Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Good morning. Can anyone give me advice as to how to unblock my windows mail system. I can receive e mails but cannot send. One e mail is blocked in the send box, will not send nor will it delete. When I try to delete it a message appears saying 'an error has occured' , but nothing beyond that. I am operating on windows vista family basic. Any other e mail that I try to send will not go out as it waits in line for the first ( blocked ) one to go, but I can delete these subsequent mails. Hopefully if I can find a way to erase the first mail the system will clear. Fingers crossed Quote
RandyL Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I can't rememember if Windows Mail in Vista shows an outbox in the folder structure but if it does try deletig from there. If not go to Control Panel>Folder options>View. In hidden files and folders tic to show. Apply>OK. Navigate to C:\Users\[username]/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Mail Look for Outbox and delete any messages in it. It might also be in a different folder there like gmail sent items. In Outlook Express you could even delete the Outbox folder there and Windows would rebuild it at startup although it would give a warning first. I highly suggest making sure you have a system restore point set first just in case. Also keep in mind that I am using Windows Live Mail not Windows Mail or Outlook Express.
