Mega wireless problem giving me a headache

okay, so i have only a little bit of experience.

I have internet downstars with a sky wireless router. one of these babies>> http://mysky.sky.com/Assets/Image/StaticFiles/3174910.jpg

 

This connected computer is Windows7

 

I purchased a wireless USB dongle, one of these babies>>

Mini Usb Wireless-n 802.11n/g Wifi Lan Adapter 150mbps - Wireless Adapters - Shopping.com

and put it in my WINDOWS XP computer upstairs and installed the software that came with it.

 

On the upstairs computer it finds the downstairs wireless router easily and says theres always 60% - 90% signal.

I got the Network Key so thats not the problem.

 

But it doesnt connect. I click internet explorer and the page cant be displayed.

 

What am i not doing right?

Oh nooo not Sky....Just kidding I have Sky.

 

Ok use the reset button on the back of the router.It looks like a small whole.Stick a nib of a pen into it and press the tiny button.

 

Does that help?

 

Have you tried turning the password off on the router and then try to connect?

thanks, tried it but still no luck,

im trying to connect upstairs WinXP comp to the wireless for the first time.

maybe its some setting i have to change on that comp? or do i have to make the computers like "talk" to eachother in some way?

I dont know much about it :L
