Guest DY Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Hello, We currently have a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise server with VMware Server installed and three virtual machines of Windows Server 2003 Standard. I am considering migrating to Virtual Server 2005 to replace VMware. Is it possible to install Virtual Server 2005 on this same server and migrate one at a time? Mainly I am curious if there is any compatibility issues by using two different virtualization technologies simultaneously. Also, I was able to do this in a test environment, but I mainly ask because I am planning on doing this shortly in the live environment and would like confirmation that this works. Thank you!

You did and see all was running like you expected, so why not starting? Guest DY Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Re: Running Virtual Server 2005 and VMware simultaneously Found this thread on VMware communities detailing another problem, but it seems it is working in other environments. http://communities.vmware.com/message/701679#701679 "Meinolf Weber" wrote: > Hello DY, > > The first suggestion is, run it in a test environment.
