keeps stopping

i have a vista computer.(del)

it has started to have trouble and im unable to use it.

everything switches on,but when it boots up,it loads windows,then turns everything off.

ive tried several times,but it keeps happening.

can anyone help???

Is this a desktop or laptop?

 

Have you added any new hardware / software recently?

 

Can you boot up in Safe Mode?

Constantly tap f8 ( about once per second ) after switching on.

Select Safe Mode from the list of options.

 

Could be overheating.

hi,

its a computer,no,i havent added anything new,and im unable to boot up in safe mode.i switch computer 0n and everything goes fine until the boot up is ready to go past windows,then it switches itself off.

i will try pressing f8 as you suggest and get back to you.
