IIS 6 Web Service is not running after windows 200 to 2003 r2 upgrade

I did an upgrade from windows 2000 adv sp4 to windows 2003 r2 during it

reported the IIS will be disconnected. After OS upgrade was done only

the IIS 6 was refusing to restart. Any help would be appriciated.

Refusing to restart? Have you tried checking the event viewer for any

errors?

Below are the system events refreanced to the IIS.

 

The World Wide Web Publishing Service is exiting due to an error. The

data field contains the error number.

 

 

The World Wide Web Publishing Service has terminated due to a Worker

process failure.

A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' reported a failure.

The process id was '4880'. The data field contains the error number.
