I am using Windows Server 2003 Service pack 2 with 1G RAM.

For last two weeks my system has become very slow.It takes a long time

to boot. Moreover, when i double click on folders to open them or text

files then again it is very slow.

I have completely scanned the system with AVG and cannot find any

virus.

Can any body tell me which process has slowed down my system and how

can i recover its speed ?

Re: Windows Booting is very slow

Hello mmunir,

Can be hardware problem with the harddisk, because you said also file opening

is slow. Check event viewer for errors and post them here.

Re: Windows Booting is very slow

I do not see any error message in the event log file. There are just

information messages.

I have installed lots of things like Oracle, SQLServer, Pervasive,

UltradEdit, Office, Visual Studio 2005 etc. on my machine.

Is this the reason for slowing down of my computer ?

Re: Windows Booting is very slow

Hello mmunir,

If you have so many different complex programs/software installed and only

1GB RAM, Oracle, SQL are needing more RAM. SQL 2005 min. is 512 recommended

1024, the same is for Oracle.
